Hardship Fund

TRU-UE is committed to maintaining solidarity with our colleagues who are experiencing financial hardship. Many graduate workers at Hopkins live paycheck to paycheck, and any unexpected expense can cause a financial emergency for our members. TRU-UE members have allocated $50,000 from membership dues to the TRU-UE Hardship Fund for the 2024-2025 academic year.

All JHU PhD-level graduate workers experiencing financial hardships are eligible to receive funds from the TRU-UE Hardship Fund. Multiple requests or fund extension requests will be accommodated based on availability of funds. Before applying to this fund, workers should first apply to any JHU hardship funds available to them. You can find a list of resources here.
